The story of how impoverished Indian teen Jamal Malik became a contestant on the Hindi version of "Who Wants to be A Millionaire?" -- an endeavor made without prize money in mind, rather, an effort to prove his love for his friend Latika, who is an ardent fan of the show.
This movie had a wonderful story and it was great to see a movie that wasn't itemized and that was actually filmed as it is seen. Truly a touching movie.
as i wrote before about this film two monts ago i like to say i said so i know this film would be praised long before it went for oscars why? as i said before original this is what hollywood is lacking of this days stop feeding us with re-makes instead create original films like this one here who would have known it was going to get so many oscars me of course and people like me who loves films well deserved
One of those movies that drags you in to the story..u feel what the characters feel..and you know what..the little kids are actually from real slums of India.
GREAT MOVIE. uplifting, great plot, music, cinematography and acting. It all blends together in a flawless combination to make a movie that is deeply emotional and provoking. This movie has had some criticisms over its portrayal of indian lifestyles etc. but I actually think the movie was pretty sensitive to the culture and tried to convey a positive message.
Wow. I had been hesitant about watching this movie before but, earlier I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did.. A really smart and unique movie.. 4/5..
A poor and uneducated Mumbai teen accused of cheating on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' recounts how he was able to answer each question via a flashback to his hard-knock childhood. On screen it's nothing short of magnificent, a completely unique movie-going experience!

I'd been staying away from this because my uncle said he didn't like it, and I thought it would be dumb. But I really liked it, it was an amazing story, and well worth the watch.
I have put of watching this film for a while but i am so glad i finally did. One of the best films i have seen in a very long time and i now understand what all the speculation was about. 10/10
So I thought I would check it out..I like some international films..but this really could happen ..loved how the story line that played out..reminiscing about how he knew the answer's. Made with great camera shots and actors. Now I see what everyone was talking about LOL 8/10
I thought it was a great film. I thought the storyline was really sad, but it had a happy ending. I think it deserved all the awards and it was alot better than I was expecting. 9/10.
