I almost died laughing at the horrible acting (mostly screenplay) in Attack of the clones. I have to say i was not expecting much from this movie. But it does start out and finish extremely strong. Actually redeeming the lackluster previous two and establishing itself as next to if not better than Empire.
Look this dialogue is not mamet ok. But this movie doesn't wuss out in the action. This is the one you've been waiting for and George Lucas knows that. He comes to the party armed and ready for war with this action heavy battleathon.
Specifically the ending

The battle between Vader and Obi Wan was the greatest sword battle ever filmed.. Easily they wield those sabers like baseball batters trying to hit home runs. This fight is unreal!! Then when Vader is placed in the black metalic suit and that sound of breathing. Wow daddy!!
That may have been the most breathtaking moment in the history of cinema.
As with all these films for some reason, seems strange. I been laughing at the tags tho, amputation, burned alive, abusive husband, what the hell are people searching for in movies these days
all you losers who think 4,5,6 are better than 1,2,3 don't understand the first three movies it is about how anakin was brainwashed into creating the sith lord darth vader !
by the way anakin skywalkers acting is way better than luke's
no, it was about the imaginative aliens, science, cultures and powers.
yes we understand the the plight of vader that was anakin. it was perfectly and eloquently portrayed in episode 6 and touched upon in episodes 4 and 5.
hamiltons acting wasnt great but whatshisnames acting was piss poor by anyones standards except keanu reeves. and besides that he was meant to imitate hamilton in the same hammed up corny naive way. like binks was the light relief instead of the droids. like neeson was guinness. the gungans the ewoks. the list goes on. its a 2nd rate script filled with contrived. formulaic cliches that do nothing but dishonour the imaginative originals. even lucas said they were **.
if you werent around when the originals were loved, even for nothing else than being original, then second rate copies can be just as good but if you were there .. second rate copies glow rank like bad notes under UV.
not a criticism. my old man and most of the old guard whos word i take as truth swear by elvis but i just dont get it .. guess you had to be there.
Love star wars but the new ones are pretty poor.The cg characters look like cartoons and out of place next to the actors.I know anakin acts poorly but the dialogue he has to say would be a challenge for anyone to do convincingly.One min hes a jedi and the next turns evil,its too obvious that palpatines a bad guy and he seems really thick not to see whats going on.Droids are terrible compared to stormtroopers and the bit where darth goes 'NOO' at the end makes me cringe.Hard to see how someone who made empire strikes back could make this pap.
idont care what anyone says i love all these movies equaly and thats that each of them have a story to tell!! im a die hard star wars fan till the end!! coolest villian was general grieves though he was baddass in the ring! people who claim to be fans but dislike one movie arent realy fans, same guy made each film, still stuck to the books as well.but MR. LUCAS we need just one more for closure whattya say buddy? talk about anakin solo and how lukes son turned to the dark side before dying at the hands of anakin solo good plot right guys?
even lucas admitted these films were bad. he mentioned the amount of money involved and said it was out of his control.
all i have to say is they didnt totally fall flat. as sci fi films id give them 6 or 7 out of 10. worth a watch. as star wars films id give them 3. what a waste.
need to make a new star wars and bring luke back for an update! or atleast a magor movie of star wars with ANAKIN SOLO(leah and hans son) dude was baddass took what a billion arrows and still kicked ass to his grave!
I have to agree with old wulf, while episode 1-3 are good movies for me the first 3 starwars movies (ep. 4-6) are much better even without the fancy cgi..
why do alot of people bad mouth the new movies all the time. the effects dont evern come in to it, atho way back when the effects where terrible. that dosent mater. the whole idea of a movie is to entertain people. witch all 3 of them do briliently. i think nether the old movies are or new are beter than eatch other. the films are all in there own way brillient.and atho yes you could argue that the new films have small bits that dont perfectly match with the old ones. thats just nit picking. at the end of the day all of the films are what all films should be as i said before, entertaining , end of.
George Lucas is a moron. He went against nearly everything his fan base wanted. At least there wasn't a ja ja binks in this one.
Still, whoever played Anakin sucked, over acted to the max.
George Lucas should stop making movies. He's lost his touch. Look at the New Indiana if you don't believe me. He should sit back with his millions and millions of dollars and keep away from his old franchises.
great action, animation, effects. but these last two new movies/last two in the series have become too self pleased!! Thats why theres no feel to them anymore. They cant rely on the great effects alone and they become shallow on that account. Its a real shame for if they had the humour and good dialogue the old series had it would have been the perfect combination.
This movie is simply taking it self too seriously!
he knew padme will die but never knew if the reason will be because of childbirth thats why he went to the dark side. he didnt also knew he had son and daughter until in the new hope somehting. and sidious told him also
Ahh, the Star Wars series are probably the best movies ever made, and with new technology in the world, they just become better and better with spectacularly real special effects.
This movie is ace, and ties together all the loose ends that were left from the other films.

just looking at this makes me sad.. star wars is such a great trilogy none of the movies were a disapointment.. I just wish they good make more star wars!! not like the animated one another real one lol
top film a few mistakes tho, one i like in particular is when the spacecraft start to fall out of space when damaged ! what happened to zero gravity? in space there is no up nor down (no left or right or otherwise in that matter) the craft would simply drift off in the area it was blasted ,,other than a few glitches ok for kids!!
