I honestly dont think cammeron knows how to make a normal length film!
That said it did not drag to much and it was an enjoyable story. Lots of familiar faces all pulling off great acting and semi believable plot (though the technology is a bit advanced).
7/10 .. just a bit to long for me personally but i honestly cant think of a section id drop to shorten it .. definatly worth a watch if you have 2+hours on your hands and are in the mood for a bit of light action murder mystery
all i can say is story was not originall it was taking from here and there and polshed up wit a sci-fi and effects but the big question is did they pull it or made a flop was it a good movie well it is a bit out dated and the doomsday did not happend or did i missed it what can i say when it is good it is good this movie is cult classic for me what did it for is the acting it is one of the best i have seen in years on top of it camera work and directing was flawless effects were good suspence all the way thrue and decent action i was glued on the screen i will recommend this film to every one
this movie was good. the beginning did not impress me but once it got going it was entertaining. that is all i ask from films, entertain me. keep me into you for an hour to hour and a half or even more. then im cool. take me up into your world and let me forget mine for a while. this movie did that for me. i give them them credit for casting angela bassett in this role, she availed herself well. and Juliette Lewis was her usual stunning self. (hubba hubba) in fact this film was packed with good character actors and most performances were up to snuff. they didnt necessarily need the millennium theme to show chaos and prejudice in the street but it doesnt detract from the film. 3/5
Good movie if yer into cyberpunk and psychological challenges.
Didn't get the credit it deserved. The acting, action, tone setting and atmosphere makes this one of the underrated classic sci-fi noir. Waaay ahead of it's time like Jhonny Mnomic. I've noticed AFTER the Matrix came out, people finally started enjoying cyberpunk related stuff.
I liked the ending since it got alot of provokative stuff going on.

When the cop is handcuffed to his partner, face covered in blood with balloons behind him going up is one of the coolest movie scenes i've ever seen.
somebody just watched this movie 2 days ago, but when I try to watch it, it's just a preview..I know what you're thinkin (click the watch now button)..it's still just the preview..on a bigger screen..*sigh* can anyone get another version?

truly a great film with james cameron penning up a cyberpunk future murder twist with great performances from its central characters in particular angela basset who goes baddass ala linda hamilton terminator 2 style. great action, great script, fantastic ending and the lovely juliette lewis naked as the day she was born make this film not only a must see for scifi fans but a must own as well. great stuff.
This movie sort of was a half bit embodiment of cyber-punk. I really liked it. Vincent D'onofrio did a great job in his role as did the principle players. A good bit of virtual tech, crime, drama, suspense-- Very entertaining and enjoyable to watch except for

the amount of sexual content was far more than I cared to see, however I know it was essential to the movies 'virtual' world
Original. And, since 200 has past, kinda funny to look at how it was thought of 4 years before it came. Finnes is a tremendous character and does not disappoint here. Lewis plays a gritty chick to a "T" - worth the watch! 3/5
4/5 Dated, but really a good watch! Could be remade and easily be valid with another setting.
There have been other movies even before this one with a similar technology premise. Interesting though, I thought this one did pretty good with it. More of a 'who-done-it' and love story than thriller or sci-fi.
I'd watch it again, too!
the acting kinda spoils this ok story just seemed rushed and not hashed out enough somethings throw this film way off watch with low expectations and u might enjoy but i doubt it 1 outa 5 stars

I've always loved this movie. Just watched it again & it's still awesome even though it's 13 years old. Great acting from Ralph Feinnes as always. 8/10.

Nice idea but conveyed poorly by crap actors.
Had this film been made in the late 80s, it would have been much better.
The fact that the makers were thinking anarchy would befall the planet in the next 4 years just gave it a terribly short shelf life.
Bogus!
Bladerunner beats the heck out of this film.
Watch that instead.
I found this to be a pretty okie dokie kind of movie.
It had the right cast, technicaly beautiful, but somehow missing that certain something that seperates the great from the just okie dokie.
Worth watching once.
