I think that this movie was a masterpeice. Now I dont expect everyone to love it but the amount of negative comments about the fact that they sing throughout it makes me wonder the exact intelligence level of the critic.
.. movie! i hated this movie. they dont stop singing. they sing then talk like 2 sentances and start singing again. literally. they sing more than high school musical. and it was sick n fake. the blood..so fake. and it was just dumb. -100 outta 100
Burton + Depp + Carter = magic. Sweeney Todd is my favorite musical of all time (yes, I've seen the Angela Lansbury original as well) and Tim Burton worked his magic again with putting this classic horror musical on screen. Amazing! 5/5
To this day I still can't figure out how, but after seeing 100 commercials for this movie I had no idea it was going to be a musical. I thought it was just a horror movie or something. So I went to see it in theaters went it came out. The movie started and Johnny Depp started singing and I thought it was a joke. But they all kept on singing and I realized it was a musical and I wanted to walk out. But I stayed for the whole movie and thought it was just ok at best. So I won't rate this since I guess I don't appreciate musicals, but you probably won't like this if your not a big fan of musicals.
So get this, I'm in the middle of watching this on megavideo. And I had already watched too many minutes on it, so I was waiting my 50 mins to watch it again, and they decided to delete basically every copy that was uploaded to that site.
Woow. That's annoying. I hope you guys get some good ones up soon, so I can finish watching. :/

then there is english television movie from 2006 and then this movie was released a year later in 2007..
if U guys like this so much, try watching Repo : The Genetic Opera, with its main characters: Alexa Vega, Paul Sorvino, Anthony Stewart Head, Sarah Brightman, Paris Hilton, Bill Moseley, Ogre (Skinny Puppy's vocalist), Terrance Zdunich. The all sing too!
I dont usually like musicals but this was amazing johnny Depp As always was brilliant, Loved every minute of it.

This movie is amazing!! I own it now and watch it frequently. The music is spectacular, all their real voices, and the acting was good as well. JOHNNY IS SOO AMAZING!! I love him in everything he does. Favorites are Edward Scissorhands and Benny and Joon. Many other as well. Tim Burton is my favorite director. He is great in all he does, especially with his good friend Johnny. WATCH THIS!! Johnny is soo incredibly HAWT!! love. 5/5
in a while. i find it ironic that edward scissorhands had hands/fingers made of knives and sweeney todd had blades..even the makeup for both characters was similar. but that may be thanks to tim burton. the movie was engaging and interesting twist on ones i've seen before. i thought the ending was actually a happy one - resolute, that is.
the movie was really good. I felt like I am sitting in my high school auditorium and watching the musical play with my best buddies. Acting was great, music was super, but ending could have been much better.
this is the first musical that I liked..I didnt like ANY before I watched this.. this was just amazing..so sad but amazing..everything about it was great..some parts where disturbing..but at the end its still worth the watch..Johnny Depp was great in this..loved the way the make up he had reminded me of him in ''Edward Scissorhands''..so 5/5 stars from me..!!
likewise that this is the first musical i ever liked, except the ending was ridiculous. To convient for the kidd to just crawl back and finish the job but as the lesson and theme I guess it made sense.

I know this movie by heart already and I still haven't had enough. One of the best musicals ever! Absolutely amazing Helena Bohnam Carter and Johnny Depp.
I usually don't like films, what contain much blood and horror, but I loved "Sweeney Todd", one of the best musicals if you ask me. Johnny Depp is one of my fave acters and he sings so well! A must see, 9+/10
