great movie, story line great (helps to know something about watchmen tho, my parents were really into it), i think the graphics are appropriate for the story..loved the gore kinda film noir imo
A dark, twisted and macabre story with plenty of gore!.. I really enjoyed this and the animation captured the Ghastly and morbid feel of the tale perfectly 4+/5
Ok, don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing something I know little about..I have not read the graphic novel..but in my humble opinion, this animation is pure, immature drivel as thought up by a junior high school student. 4/10
I watched this a while back on another site and this is one piece of awesomeness. The graphism is perfect and the story is really entertaining.
Lots of gore which added reality to the story. Devastating effects of the sea on men. 6/5 a must watch!!
I am however very familiar with the theme song song by nina simone, the song always spooked me a bit. who knew there would be a flick with the same name as nina simone's song? the cartoon is almost just as spooky as her song which is song at the end of the movie to my surprise. my aunt would play the cd everyday, this was her favorite song- as far as the movie goes 5/5- very nicely done
Gore, lots of Gore. A well done piece of a sailor's descent into hell. The Black Freighter is a sub-story in Watchmen and mirrors the descent of Ozymandias. As another member said, this story is very much in the Edgar Allen Poe tradition. Worth a watch.
