In Venice Beach, naive Midwesterner JB bonds with local slacker KG and they form the rock band Tenacious D. I gotta disagree with you there. It was a comedy flick, so it was passable, except the .. part. That was a bit too much jack black for me. Music was incredibly well done though, which is actually why they made the movie in the first place. For Tenacious D to come out with new music.
This movie totally rocks! Way harder than that school of rock. S.O.R. was a bit boring - really. But this, this is a great movie for its type. It should be treasured! Nice story.. Silly but very imaginative. Awkward at times, funny at others. There was some good music and it was awesome to see Dio make a cameo.
Overall a fun watch..4/5 stars, I would watch it again.
Hilarious - Jack Black at his rocker finest. Supporting cast not terribly impressive; Jack Black was trying to carry the film by himself.
Graded this movie "B".
Not great, but pretty cool!! Loved some of the songs, and Black and Gass really work together well. Reminds me of Wayne's World, but in all honesty, is nowhere near as good. The downside of this movie, is that it feels a little rushed. I would however, love them to make another full length movie. I think this could of been a great movie, but it was just good. Although, as a movie, it served its purpose and held my attention from start to finish, and I enjoyed it. So it's done what it was made to do. Just feel it could of been better. 80/100.
