A NASA astronaut (Thornton), forced to retire years earlier so he could save his family farm, has never give up his dream of space travel and looks to build his own rocket, despite the government's threats to stop him.
Some elements of the movie are obviously contrived, but in general it's done well, with a reasonable balance of action and drama. For kids and young teens, I rate this at least 8 1/2 out of ten. For older people, not less than 6 1/2 out of ten, meaning it makes a good, fun family movie.
A really good film about a man and his family against the system. I belive that back in the 80's a man in the USA really did build a rocket out of NASA and millitery Scrap that would have been able to put him into orbit ( although he was'nt sure it could bring him back ) but was not allowed the launch it.
4 outta 5 stars for the great family film
Wonderful fantasy ! It's just great , the humility and simplicity of the main character , and his family , you have to root for him from the get go ! Fantastic movie with lots of love ! 5 STARS !
this movie was great 5/5. Really show's how we are not free in the least bit. and you have to fight and do things that might get you locked up to accomplish something great. the world is a mess and someone needs to fix it!!
