I usually avoid tearjerkers, but couldn't pass up two of the finest actors in Hollywood. They produced, as usual, and the story was very touching. Rated 4/5, just because the story was a little bit slow moving. It is nonetheless, worth watching. Excellent message.
wow im the only one who didnt enjoy this movie..i got what the movie is about,the problem is i just think that it was such a bore..didnt get it sorry 1/10 dud
We all know someone with cancer.. Heck, we have a 1 in 3 chance of getting it in some form or other.
This is a very touching and not at all cheezy flick with plenty of light humour and fun to contrast the devastating gravity of the inevitable.
Since the good news is fantastic, I'll give the bad news first. The movie is maybe too slow here and there; and the first 25 minutes or so are somewhat unpleasant (although that's deliberate).
Now the good part: this is a wonderful movie. It provides a couple of tears (men included), laughter (some great one-liners), contemplation, drama, and exhilaration

(such as in the skydiving and the sportscar race).
Jack, and Morgan even more so, do roles that are about as close to perfect as can be hoped for.
I rate this as at least 9/10.
However, there are several aspects which are naive and hardly believable.
First, the portrayal of cancer patients is wrong. People gradually lose their energy and force like a burning candle and not as it's shown in the film - health condition of Carter is fine till the last moment and then cancer suddenly affects him.
Second, I don't think that Edward Cole (Nicholson) is so ignorant that he doesn't know how his favourite drink (Copi Luwak coffee) is produced.
Third, climbing the Himalayas is not an ordinary task. Only trained people can accomplish it. You have to be accustomed to cold weather, air shortages and be in a good physical condition in order to tolerate a week-long journey.
All told, all these things are relatively insignificant to the main plot so the film is still fine.
No overblown special effects, no hyped over drama, just a pure story that captures an event in life in which we all never want to talk about, but think about.
This is one of the rare "LIFE CHANGING" movies in its purest form. 5/5.
I adored this movie.. and how can you go wrong with two amazing actors.. the only thing that made me upset outside of the movie was seeing Jack so pale and frail.. it reminded me he's getting up there and his talent will be taken away from us in time.. in my time.. I grew up with Jack on my tv set and it made me sad to realize that all the greats, well who I consider amazing actors are really getting old.. meh.. at least we have tons of film to remember them with.. he's one of those actors as well as Morgan who will always remain in our hearts..
my father had a "bucket list" for 20 years, had HALF the stuff crossed off. Then at 47 he had a massive heart attack. I didnt know he had heart problems..but I always wondered. Makes me want to find that list..
This Film is great, the storyline is almost perfect, for those still living and still afraid to die, well better start learning how, because is gonna get you sooner or later, HOLLA
This movie is overall good, it has great actors,but the story was a little slow for me, and also it is just sad. I am not sure how appropriately accurate the movie depicts oncology patients, even though this is pretty encouraging film..this movie was just not for my taste..
This was such a Beautiful story, i love every moment about this movie, Makes me think about the things i wish to accomplish before i die.. Worth way more then just one watch, this is a movie i will always love.. 10/10
