This is an absolute classic of the horror/sci-fi genre and is right up there alongside ''The Thing'' in terms of storyline and special effects. Its a really good idea for a story, if not a bit far fetched, but this doesnt matter as you get caught up in the great performance given by Goldblum, which gives the film its credibility. The film is really a modern take on the age old story of falling in love with a monster, i felt undercurrents of ''Frankenstein'' and ''The Elephant Man'' whilst watching. A classic from start to finish. 5/5
i think this movie has a wise message: its better to be proven wrong by trusting your woman. than to be proven wrong by NOT trusting her. cuz Jeff would have never gotten himself into that situation if he had only had some faith in her and didnt get so depressed.lol poor jeff :(
A unique horror and one of my favourite David Cronenberg films. Wonderful special effects/make-up design; very gooey and gross; at times, it reminds me of "The Thing."
Jeff Goldblum was simply made for this role, and Geena Davis was superb also.
Horror fans are constantly seeking films which are unusual and different. Well, this is one of those films. Watch it if you haven't already. 5/5 stars.
i read the comments go,yeah,goldblum good actor,blah..nobody but me says,right,an actor is needed in a film but it is the director making it..Cronenberg!!all credits to him,all movies he made are outstanding.

this film scared the sxx out of me when i went to pictures to see it long time ago reason for it this was that something colud and will happen if we dont stop messing with nature goldblum's best movie to this date because he fitted the part like a glove and the acting he did here desrves an oscar he made himself so creepy you need to see it to understand cast was very good directing and speacial effects are very good there was not much action here not like the second part but still ilove this better because of goldblum's acting i would reccomend this movie to any one who loves horror suspence thriller this film is the only one gets closest to alfred hitchcok movies
This a timeless classic horror movie with a very plausible storyline.
Disgustingly fantastic special effects, superb acting and a plot that will have you both loving and hating the protagonist as the film progresses from glory to disaster.
Goldblum is an amazing actor and he fits the role perfectly.

We have a Classic right here felas. This movie does not only bring amazing special effects but it also provides a metaphor for all degenerative diseases (cancer, AIDS, Alzheimers) and the effect it has on the victim. He fights it; he tries to outthink it; he monitors his deterioration, with irony, then anger. Because this movie is about a man facing his own decay, and hoping against hope to negotiate with the inevitable, it is the most human of all horror films.

Classic sci fi thriller, no stones unturned, excellent plot, and acting. One of my favorite Sci fi Dramas, Message don't make decisons when you're drunk. lol.
not only is this a classic but is also an extrodanary film most exellent luv this one old school horror at its best a re-make that stands on its own!! 2 thumbs up!!
