this just wasnt happening, the plot is bad, the acting is just fair, the script is bad, too be fair there was a couple scenes in the movie i did like..but overall dont watch this
I'm just a third of the way into the film and I can't get over the absafreakalutely ridiculous facial expression on the girl that Wharlberg is dating or whatever..its just so f'ing annooying ugh I just want to jump in the screen and slap that stupid look off her f'ing face ugh! God, give me a break! lol
It should have been titled "The Sucking". Exactly how would trees evolve spontaneously to that degree?? I hate it when the science in a movie is so completely retarded that you can't even let your imagination just run with the make-believe logic. I really can't believe how M. Knight could have written this and said to himself.. "Yes, this is good enough to spend millions to produce!" How delusional must he be at this point? I can imagine that after the premier he was looking around with a stupid smile on his face look for acceptance from the crowd, but nobody would make eye contact with him because they were embarrassed for him. lol At any rate, I really feel bad for the actors who got involved in this film. They were probably expecting M. Knight to deliver something of quality, but he certainly dropped the ball on this one. Oh well, M. Knight was a flash in the pan so to speak. If he hadn't have occupied so much of his time stroking his own ego he might have done better. I guess we'll never know since he's pretty much off the map at this point.
What-the-hell was that?!? I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is another example of Hollywood, hyping-up a movie, telling us that is the best thing since forever, and sheep jumping on the bandwagon agreeing with them.Trees, really M. Knight !?!? Not to mention that I had the whole thing figured out in like 15 min. Who else is tired of his crap?!?! This dude is a one trick pony For some saying that you hate this whack-ass movie means that you aren't sophisticated enough to get it so they say they love it. Well damn that!! This movie sucks and i aint afraid to say it. And the reason I don't get it, is because there is nothing to get. Horrible, movie. Apparently, M. Knight and Tarantino just don't care anymore, ugh! Oh, and I am sophisticated, I drink my tea with my pinky in the air ;)

mark wahlberg has the same facial expression throughout the entire movie, plus, he's wearing a mood ring and running from the wind. m. night shyamalan is secretly playing a joke on everyone. he's laughing to himself, wondering how ludicrous his plots have to become before audiences stop seeing his films. and he's going to continue because this grossed $62.7 million world-wide in its first weekend.
Personally I thought that it was a pretty interesting movie. Yeah there could have been alot more action but where is the fun in all of that.

The point of the movie is to get people to think about what they are doing to the world, and what it could do to you. Don't take anything for granted. Don't hate what GOD gave you. LOVE and appreciate it all.
This film is retarded on every single level.. The only redeeming feature was that the the performances were so unintentionally bizarre, that it took on the edge of a surreal comedy.
M. Night Shamylanadingdong is undoubtedly the least deserving director in the entire world - it's almost beyond me how someone with such unerring ability to produce stinker after stinker can be tolerated in what ought to be a competitive industry. That said, of late - the bar has been set pretty low.

On another note it seems that recently, a few movies with the theme 'Nature takes revenge' have seen a box-office release and all of them seem to blatantly disregard the fact that humans (not to mention everything else on the planet) are all equally a part of nature. The crude anthropomorphic view that are treated to makes no sense, no matter how you look at it. At best 'nature' is some kind of holistic 'entity' and as such encompasses the whole spectrum. At one point, towards the end of the film, we are presented with a presumably 'meaningful', lingering view of a Nuclear Power plant, but even nuclear reactors are natural. There are at least two, centuries old natural pulse-reactors in the coastal cave networks of South Africa - and even a man made reactor is arguably 'natural' by proxy. M. Night is of sub par intelligence and has yet to make a movie that is anything other than Juvenile. Perhaps it's fitting then that he is the director of the kids movie 'Avatar: The Last Air Bender'. Is it safe then to presume that he's finally come to terms with his limits and has quit attempting to bat above his level?
Makes on wonder if plants could really do that stuff. I hope nothing like that happens here. Well anyway good movie but not one of Marks best movie. But worth at least one watch. Kinda of freaky though.

Bodies hanging all over the place and just laying around..
I'd call the 'plants' comment out as a spoiler, but really there's nothing to spoil. Besides which, only the most dull of dullards would fail to spot the large neon lit signs declaring 'The Plants Did it!'. You raise a reasonable point though, the notion that plants have to evolve esoteric defence mechanisms in a world populated by more dexterous creatures, is the only vaguely interesting idea raised in the film - shame then it never really got explored, just a few throw away lines of exposition. I get the impression that either M. Night is stupid or he believes that to be true of his audience - either way, not very satisfying.
Great Story..
I love the plot, this is not just like the other sci-fi movie with good effect,
its more on the story, think about it if that happen in your place
wow! that was soo scaarry, this one is much more disaster than anything
cause you can't see and you wont know when will it happen and
it can wipe out the human race in just an hour or even in a minutes.
I was expecting something as good as any other M Night movie but was very disappointed, the acting was bad and so was the script. I could hardly wait for the end. It was a good story ruined by predictability and some very 'stretched' scenes.
If my opinion was direted at myself prior to watching this I would advise myself to give it a skip.
I really did not like this movie..I got about half way through and had to turn it off. It did however have good acting and a couple of crazy death scenes but other than that a total bore..yawn. I give it a 4/10.
ok..there are 2 things about this movie that make me want to scream!!

1: if everybody (or most of them) thought that it was toxins being givin off by the plants, then how come NOBODY tried to cover their faces? or at least nose and mouth? yeah they tried to cover cracks and wondows and stuff, but not one person thought to cover their face with a towel or shirt or sock or SOMTHING?? come on!! and 2: with everything that was going on (suicides and evacuations, etc..) why was wahlberg SSOO calm during the whole movie? he didnt even freak out once! yeah right! who would be THAT calm during that type of situation?
I saw this movie when it came out on DVD and I really enjoyed it.
It was one of those movies that is so weird and different it just glues your eyes to the screen wondering what could possibly happen next xD
Just for a warning to everyone about to watch this movie don't attempt to watch it on the MEGA VIDEO player it's only the trailer for some reason..
no on seconds thoughts watch this then after about 10mins after the end of the film it will hit you like a bulldozer that this is prob the worst film you have ever seen !! everything is wrong with this movie !!
What a weird movie. I wasn't going to watch this as I'm really not a fan of Mark Wahlberg, but I wasn't annoyed by him since everything in this movie was interesting. From beginning to end it keeps you guessing. It was scary at points, but maybe that's because I just watched The Mothman Prophecies O_o lol

Hated the end. I mean, WTF !? No real reason for the events !? Bla bla bla "we're doing it to ourselves". Yuck, those kinda movies suck - think about Happy Feet and The Day The Earth Stood Still. CHEESY !! Oh well
IT WAS REALLY GOOD,WORTH WATCHING.OTHER THAN ALIENS,CREATURES,WARS THIS MOVIE TRIES TO TELL US DIFFERENT TYPE OF DISASTER TO DESTROY ALL HUMANS.NICE MOVIE 5/5
the only part i could fault was the lion just pulling the guys arm off! wouldnt he have just been pulled over? humans arent quite so frail, also they would have killed him first! good film tho! interesting n different! 8.5 /10
