As a piece of drama this is moving & well told story - so moving that having watched it I decided to look up the real story.What I found shocked me.The film is a total travesty of the facts & I wont detail why for fear of spoiling the story for any who wish to watch it.As a drama it is excellent & worth watching - but I also recommend any who see it to also look at the site by journalist Cal Deal in order to get a more truthful version of events.When you do - it may be a slightly less inspirational story sadly - but such is life!
thanks a lot dear for informing about cal deal website. i have read some facts. well for a strange like me, movie was awesome, but after reading some details on the site- movie is a mess. Its just the hot selling cake made by the director to sell his product.
I liked this movie 1st time watching it and I'm sure I'll watch it again. Also, read more about him and his book. As for the Hurricane I think I meet him before maybe 6-8 years ago, who knows right? maybe it wasn't him.
This is was a good movie. I thought the acting was ok, but the characters were one demensional; they were either pure evil or saints. Obviously a far cry from reality. Nonetheless this was a great depiction of a true injustice. There was obviously a great deal of artistic license taken in the making of the film, but it is entertaining none the less. If you want the real story with the complexities of the characters and the times, read the book. This is worth watching, flaws and all.
this is the first time i've seen this movie [9.08] and now i know why he didn't get the oscar for this - and it wasn't b/c of the lack of acting ability ;)
..never should one underestimate the power of denzel's performances - even when you want to - as i did when i watched TRAINING DAY - you cannot deny the man is a great actor!
this is a brilliantly told story, intensified by a brilliant actor.
