After kidnapping and brutally assaulting two young women, a gang led by a prison escapee (Dillahunt) unknowingly finds refuge at a vacation home belonging the parents of one of the victims -- a mother (Potter) and father (Goldwyn) who devise an increasingly gruesome series of revenge tactics.
Ok I said it before I dont mind horror not my favorite genre but its like this with any kind of movie so there was particular story I mean what if the John dosent talk to the girls in the store the whole thing tumbled on each other and it dosent seem good family going on a vacation and all and all that. The movie all in all was good cause there was loads of suspense in this and thats what it needed.
The movie in a way is about a Perverted asshole group who kill people for sheer entertainment or boredom almost no point father was like "BE A MAN SON, THI IS THE TIME TO BE A MAN" WHAT A STUPID THING TO SAY I mean the only man there was the son he resisted well not really I wouldnt call it resisting cause it seemed he just didnt have the disgusting retarded hungry person in him like half the men in this world lol I know loads of people who wouldve just thrown themselves at her. Which is plainly disturbing pathetic low life and disgusting what has this world come to. I would've done the same thing as John I rather would have died then be a part of that group of retarded pigs.
First of all this was awful. I was stoked to see how they were going to do this but they did not do the original justice at all. The first one was so much more brutal. If you are going to even attempt remaking a film that was that controversial at that time, you need to make it even more or at least as brutal as the original. The only good horror remake that has come out is The Hills Have Eyes. Now they are remaking some of my favorite foreign horrors and they are going to butcher those too.
I will say though that The Crazies looks awesome and might be up there with The Hills Have Eyes (as in better than the original). I hope to god that is the case.
i have to stop listening to my girlfriend`s suggestions for movies. wasn`t really much of a story. like "the hills have eyes" this movie just tries to shock you into liking it. i would have preferred a liitle more story and a little less brutality.

this movie brings out some "quick, no turning back well deserved justice!" and.. kudos for that!

This movie is not my style typically.. But i freakin loved it! It wasnt 2 gory or bloddy. It was just awsome!

i do admit i cried with the rape scene- it was very very real n 2 long cause i was very upset n uncomfortalbe! Also u totalli root 4 the parents.. 2 answer other ppls questions: the doc obviously killed the dad b4 they lefy but it was put at the end for suspense. But i agree more needed 2 b shown bout y the bro ben died n wat happend 2 paige?
the doc really didnt have time to paralyze and torture the dad while his daughter was dying did he? no, i think he probably stashed the dad, and after the cops were threw searching the place, he tortured him
Well the first half was very disturbing from a parental point of view ..not my cup of tea..Was not impressed there was only 4 deaths through this dragged out film too! I thought it was pretty lame but all and all pay backs a B*tch !! Thought it was funny once they snapped they went all kill crazy though..lol However I didn't thin k this was even a thriller..it was so predictable from beginning to end I don''t get how anyone thought it was suspenseful?? 3/10
3/10/??not a thriller?? I think u should stick to your tinker bell/astro boy/ twilight etc etc..this is obviously not your cup of tea, so go watch unpredictable/suspenseful movies like Winnie Pooh/The Little Mermaid , I'm sure u'll love them..
I have watched this one a few times. I've never seen the first one they made back in the day. I must say though this is one of the best movies of 2009 no joke. But it seems that others think different.
The movie though have not seen the original one, but this one was great, in the sense that victims can take their revenge, now this what i call poetic justice, and societies should seriously consider of letting the victims of such brutality do their own justice to the person who did it, an eye for an eye. five out five for the story line.
not bad, kinda creppy at times..still, the best part to me is dennis from its always sunny in philadelphia is in it..worth a watch if your bored or w/e
I held off on this one b/c I thought it would suck like most remakes, but I finally gave in and I was pretty impressed. I liked the suspense and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. I thought it was a lot more intense than I expected & some of it was rather disturbing.. 4/5!!
it wasnt bad,,keeps you entertain,even though i would of liked a little more gore during the killings,but not bad, it kind of reminded me a little of (storm warning).lol 3/5
This is a great film if you crave for suspense and the ending was great. I would rate this film 9/10 the only thing that was bothering me was the violence-trust me theres a lot
I have been waiting to see this film for a while, just never got around to it before now. Why not a film for the squeamish the Last House on the Left does deliver the blood parts with a strong moral core that feels very authentic throughout the chaos.

Of course that authentic moral core which brought about the death of the bad guys was used in combination with the kitchen sink, a hammer, a wine bottle, a pistol and that wonderful cooking machine known as the microwave but its still a factor none the less.
If you liked the original film, or enjoy the other works of Wes Craven, then this film is right up your alley. Should you wish to avoid a very dark subject matter with scenes of violence depicted throughout then I suggest you skip this one all together as there won't be any middle ground where you can fast forward through the gruesome events and still watch the rest of the film without a problem.
