good entertaining movie even funny in some parts when compared to other similarity movies. it is just a movie.this wasn't forced on you by your parents as a child.i think ill go read the comments on the exorcist now.apparently we force that one on our selves.this movie is worth a watch especially if you like martin scorcesse films.
This movie is a fable..devout christians will hate it and I found it to be boring at times but it does show the human side of us all and I am sure that Jesus was faced with many temptations during his ministry since evil didn't want him to achieve his goal..salvation for us all through his death..but I also like to remember all his teachings and not just his passion and death. If you want to see a realistic portrail of his death you must see The Passion of the Christ!!
good movie, funny how much the chritians cant stand a film where jesus is portrayed as a human being telling people to love each other n stuff. how awfull is that. but they seem to love "the passion" where jesus gets murdered for two hours.
Being someone that is highly interested in Christian theology, this movie was incredibly difficult for me to watch. Not because the movie is stressing the 'man like' qualities of Jesus, but because of the incredible amount of inaccuracies. There were so many of them that it completely ruined it for me and I couldn't get past part 2.
While I think the idea of the movie is stellar - showing that Jesus was still a man - I just wish that the screenwriter would have researched far better.
I did not watch this movie for 20 years due to my church throwing a fit when it hit theaters and had it banned from our town. I'm glad I waited until I was mature enough to understand it, despite the reasoning.
In a strictly entertainment sense, this was a great story.
In a strictly religious sense, you take what you get spiritually from what God lays on your heart.

The whole marriage and mortal life of Jesus that was the uproar of the "Church" when this movie came out ends up being literally Christ's last temptation. To die a man, and not the Messiah. What is human time but a blink of an eye for God. Nothing depicted is too far fetched when you remember God is all knowing, all powerful and all present.
