This is not only a great classic western, certainly greater even than "Stagecoach", but also an historical social document depicting how, through the courage of hardworking men and women, the west became a place where decent families could live in peace. It rings so true that the story might really have happened. Even the situations where there is abundant humour, though larger than life, still seem credible.
