i feel really bad after watching this movie.don`t get me wrong it`s a good movie it`s more of a thriller filled drama rather then a horror.example tale of two sister.any way it`s the bitter sweet ending that`s making me feel bad
No it's not just you I think the mums hot aswell.. Excellent film, Really good story-telling, that slowly unfolds. Creepy in parts and also heart warming 4/5..
ok i didnt finish the movie but i saw some people asking about that they didnt get the ending, so i found this and am going to paste it, its a spoiler so dont read it if you havent seen the movie

She then realizes what happened. (in flashbacks: Simon asks her to go to Tomas’ little house (the space underneath the stairs), when she is frantically looking for him, she quickly closes the closet door, and jams the heavy pipes against a wall, unknowing she’s locking the hidden door, the banging she hears in the middle of the night is Simon banging to get out.)She then realizes he probably fell down the stairs, broke the banister and died. She carries him upstairs to the children's bedroom, where she then takes a bunch of pills. She falls asleep, then wakes up and Simon is alive. He asks her to stay with them -- Simon and the rest of the orphans -- and take care of them. Laura agrees.
Brilliant story - even though I missed part as the version I watched not everything was subtitled, though knowing a bit of basic Spanish pieced it together.
Ending is great!

The mothers guilt as she realises what's happened she can't forgive herself, so sad.
Due to the high rating and postive comments I highly intispated seeing this film and I'm sorry..but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Not saying it wasn't a decent film ..I just thought the storyline needed some tweeking..I mean you're telling me the son

I guess they couldn't come up with a more interesting explaination??
I wish someone would explain how this movie is deep?
A suspenseful film. Good for those of you who like to be spooked with creepy horrors instead of gore fests. There is a good story line, it's not just random jumps for effect. Try it if you like those kind of movies.

great suspense and decent story-line. it had quite a large number more dramatic elements than a normal PG-13-equivalent horror but that's what made it refreshing to watch. definitely a must-see film.
In the sea of mediocre horror movies we get these few past years, there are some horror movies that probably go by undetected such as The Orphanage. The Orphanage is movie that doesn't rely on cheap scares and on blood and gore, this movie knows how to build the suspense and does it very well. Probably not all that scary but a damn good movie.

i almost didnt watch it because its in spanish with english subtitles but im glad i did it was soo good 10/10
the producer of this movie has alot of awesome ones this one is one of the best he is also responsible for Pans Labrynth and a movie called The Devil's Backbone they are all awesome I am in the process of trying to see all of his movies at least once anyone who enjoys this movie should check out more by him.
I ENJOYED IT! EVEN THOUGH IT WASNT IN ENGLISH, IT KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT! I WAS A LITTLE THROWN OFF AT THE END OF THE MOVIE BUT, IT WAS DIFFERENT AND I ENJOYED THAT FACT! WATCH IT!
