this is a great movie, good acting, great script and scenes
it is of course sad to note this movie is about the nazi war
the whole war and outcome of the war was a pure evil
the pianist is a rare movie, movies like these are seldom made
Im a big big fan of any movie that won an Academy Award.. I held off for a while on watching this one on this site, as I haven't seen it previosuly, but I am extremely satisfied.. GREAT acting by Brody, well deserved award for Actor, best Picture (even though Roman Polanski is a pedophile, he is an extremely talented director).. Would recommend this to anyone, but sit on a pillow cuz its a long one, but worth the time.
A little long, but overall the storyline and acting are ok. The only two things I did not like about it were the fact he never fought back (what a wuss) and in the movie it did not show him growing a beard until most of the movie was over. I doubt he could have shaved. If you don't have food, I'm sure you won't have a razor either.
One of my top ten. Extremely well made and for once I'm glad the movie had end credits. If you are a fan of dramatic war stories, you will appreciate this film. Also check out "The Truce." It doesn't have the beautiful classical music, but it, along with this film, are two must sees..lest we forget.
i got this on dvd and i watch this nearly everyday never gets old im only 12 but i dont care this is the best u know this is true the germany captain he died 1952 and the pianist died at 200 he was 88 years old
When I find nothing else worth watching, or am tired of the same-old-same-old new releases, I can always rely on old favourites..the Pianist is such a wonderful movie and I was sorely disappointed when it didn't win Best Movie Oscar (I believe went to Chicago). A masterpiece!
This is a very powerful movie & the fact that it represents very real facts about the horrors the jews went through in ww2 makes it a very emotion stirring film.
I watched (Auschwitz:The Nazis & the Final Solution, Documentry) before watching this movie which i think made it much easier to understand.
Everyone should watch this film. 10/10
