This movie was great that was a slick scam/con in the beginning. I never saw it coming either. You know That Redford could easily pass for Brad Pitts father. Same shape faces' their eyes are very similar. Is he Pitts father?
Paul Newman and Robert Redford deliver incredible beyond belief performances. This is the only movie of its kind, and there is no reason you shouldn't watch it. I give it 10/10.
Cast is all star, story is solid and very entertaining. Love the ending!! Great performances by ALL cast members. A true classic in every sense of the word. 5/5
This film is an absolute classic, loved it, love films about the 30's. This one- great acting, lots of twists, really funny, did I say great acting?, great score, just about everything.
The only downside is sometimes very hard to understand dialogues- almost like encrypted dialogues!,,- (most of the times actually, ha ha) and you have to read plot to get it.
Why didn't Newman and Redford team up again? Certainly there was another good movie for them to partner up in, but as Gondorff would have put it, only chumps don't quit when they're ahead. 9.5/10.
should say why dont they team up again. they are both still alive. and with that team you cant go wrong. how could a movie with both of them not do good in the box office?
