I'm absolutely surprised of how well Denzel Washington can perform a role he usually doesn't play. That's what a good actor is, he plays his cards no matter what. Ethan Hawke was brilliant in his role too.
It's unfortunate to see how low a city can descend when there are no values. This is America in the raw. I'm glad I had the opportunity so see this crude movie about life in LA. I gave it a 10 out of 10.
Excellent cast and perfect pacing. Starts off full throttle and keeps you guessing all the way thru. Even if you've seen a million crime movies, it will still feel fresh and exhilarating.
You'll simply be missing out if you don't watch it.

This movie just rocks all the way. Excellent performances. This is one of those movies you can watch over and always catch something you missed before. I have seen it at least 5 times since it came out.
Denzel as the bad guy. Wow! If you want to know how good an actor or actress is then watch how the perform when asked to play a role that is opposite from the roles they normally take. Good guy vs. bad guy. Or cool guy vs. nerd. This movie has me getting flashbacks from the Dave Chappele Show.

Damn, i'm so glad i re-watched this movie, i remember watching it 8 years ago or so, didn't really understand much at that time, but now..wow..amazing story, and i have to hand it to denzel such an amazing role he played, and such a good actor,
this is definitly in my top ten favorite movies of all time. denzel deserved the oscar he won for this role, he was amazing. ethan hawke should of got a best supporting actor nod for this as well because he played the gullable rookie cop perfectly, this is his best film to date. if you haven't seen this you don't know what you're missing ! 10/10
till this date still one of the best film's made by hollywood and denzel's best movie even he plays the bad guy ethan hawks best role the film is watchable again and again story is not far off from reality of police force today i loved this film and watched it so many times to see the great acting by denzel and others
I just LOVE watching Denzel do what he does best, and simply marvel at how well he can portray any character! This movie had a great story which had me hooked from start to end. A must see that i'll watch again so it goes on my playlist with a 5/5!
