I also read the book before watching this movie. Amazing..I loved it. At times hard for me to watch being someone who was once involved in similar activity. I recommed this for sure. A very raw depiction of a life of addiction,crime..struggles to overcome.
yeah same here i too had a bad time but i got straight, not in the way rentboy did by just taking the cash etc i had to work for it! but im sorted now thank God. Altogether quite a good movie i gave it a 5/5 stars
I understand why a lot of people could like this movie, it simply was not for me. I think that it resembles 'Requiem for a dream', though I thought that film was much better. If you're into cult classics, this is one you should consider.
I'm still confused as to how so many people say, "My ultimate favorite movie." .. There's so many great films out there. Just my opinion..

I thought the part where the little baby dies, was shown just right. It's was amazing and really made me feel like i was in the room like in that siuation.
It's just soo gripping and made me want to watch more and more.

Ewan McGregor was the only reason i thought to watch this film and once again his performance was just amazing.
He really is one of the best actors EVER!!

I think this film is great and the music is amazing, i have made my own 3min film that i used the music from trianspotting and i tryed to make my film feel like it aswell with all the colour and the use of drugs and the camrea showing how the main person is feeling,i love the part on the bed when the room is growing ang the dead baby is crawling along the wall. love---------------------------------------------
IF YOU DON'T SEE ANOTHER MOVIE IN YOUR LIFE MAKE SURE THIS IS THE LAST ONE YOU WATCH. A BRILLIANT MASTERPIECE THAT EXPOSES THE DARK SIDE OF THE SO CALLED GLAMOROUS HEROIN USE. RIGHT AFTER WATCHING THIS MOVIE HAVE A LOOK AT "REQUIEM FOR A DREAM". IF AFTER THOSE TWO MOVIES YOU STILL WANT TO SHOOT HEROIN THEN YOU ARE REALLY SHOT OUT. BOTH MOVIES ARE BRILLIANT..5 OUT OF 5 STARS FOR BOTH.
First of all I love this film, and always will, it is a masterpiece. I saw this because dope had its claws in me for a couple years. And second of all this film takes place in Scotland and I see so many people stating that its English but it isn't, it is a depiction of heroin addict's lives in Scotland. Def give it a look though.
Everyone had told me it was good but I kept on putting it off. I thought it would just be another movie about heroin addicts but it was a masterpiece from start to finish, a must watch for true movie fans, Brilliant!
My god, what a film! oh, this is just lush. One of my all time faves that tells a tale of addiction, crime, death, and finally the ability to over come the odds and come out on top. This film is an intriguing emotional roller coaster ride that'll keep and leave you wanting more. great acting through out. 10/10
This movie just gets better and better over time. Even after my fourth viewing I still find something new to reflect upon or laugh about. surely there is a little something for everyone that enjoys movies about life. 5/5 stars
