It's actually adopted from a novel with the same name by William Makepeace Thackeray.. I have read the summary of the book.. A slice of life book/movie indeed.. Enjoyable..

I enjoyed the movie and felt that she deserved the happy ending that she got. :)

I think Witherspoon's character exuded a strength and charm - despite the conniving.

I'm glad to see that she found that simplicity is the way to happiness. :)

This one's up there with the big ones, in my list. Directed by Mira Nair, a wonderful cast, soundtrack, and developed from the book by William M. Thackeray, it makes for one wicked film.

Couldn't believe it when I found out it was filmed in 55 days, it's a work of art.
