Loved it for a comic book movie its really good I dont really know the history of watchmen never read the comics or anything actually when it came out was the first time I actually heard of it and its a great story of humanity and all and in some places its so true humans most these days are so ignorant and fear everything they dont understand and the world is filled with unjustice these days lets give life a chance I mean what our world is coming to is disaster.
Ok I saw there were big topics here which comic book movie is better and what not well I think Spidey movies were great 3 sequels did come up showing its succes. But my point is Spidy was good so was Iron Man and Dark Knight and watchmen. But Watchmen lets put it this way wasnt for a mature audienc well every superhero movie above they werent aimed at children neither they all became huge blockbuster succes spawning sequels and will be more sequels and remakes of these series's. The closest to watchmen is Dark Knight of course WB and Legenday and Dc worked together on that too so of course its gonna be no Marvel's Iron Man or Spiderman they're diffrent things and each movie is good in their own way Im a huge collector of movies and lol and some movies i can look at very critically but the debates and stuff what were going here were plain stupid these movies stand alone no relation to the other all I know is Spidey and Iron man made theyre way into cinema big time so even though maybe Watchmen you think its better if Spidey or Iron man were crap they would've just stopped but for those series's its only just the beginning.

(Loads of people say this movie dragged too long well its all on perspective I mean every second counted in this movie as the small details slowly unravled take Harry Potter 6 for instance the same length as this and people said to short not enough information and they were right it did seem rushed it all depends on how much info you put in and how much time you take with it cause if you pull a movie for like 3 hours with no point of pulling it that far no point but this movie had its moments)
this was a great movie, from effects to acting, to action scenes and everything else. 5/5 prob wont watch this one again for awhile tho, cuz it is long
one of the best ever, great story AWESOME acting terrific effects brilliantly directed and executed to the fullest potential, all you people that complain about it being to long, that it must have an action scene every five minutes, that there was too much drama, I think you need to stick with your eye candy films like Van Helsing or Chronicles of Riddick simple crap. 9/10 IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN 4 HOURS LONG!!
This movie must be watched with someone else beside you because it is very long, and an occasional pause to chat or get more food would be ver pleasant. The flick is very poetic. I loved it. I can't watch it again anytime soon because it was so long, but it holds so much more meaning than the other comic book movie. Those movies are supposed give you a cheap thrill (which is not bad, i loved spiderman 1 and 2), this one is supposed to make you think.
This movie was incredible. It was essentially a comic book in movie form, unlike the Spiderman/Batman/Hulk/Ironman garbage.
Although I would have appreciated a little less of the dangling blue dingaling..
spiderman is nothing but over-dramatized horse pucky..i do agree with you on the dark knight tho; but id have to say that watchmen is right up there with DK
i disagree with ssg335. Not that Spiderman/Batman/Iron Man movies are bad but they are all the same movies with different characters. All candy coated with special effects and constant action to hide the lame 80's boy meets girl storyline. However, Watchmen had great depth in their story and didnt sellout like the others
I agree this is way better than Dark Knight and the Marvel movies.. Dark Knight how original.. Batman has been done to death.. not saying the movie was bad just not as good as everyone says.. and the marvel movies just went to far away from original story line for my taste.. this was a refreshingly different experience
well i'm sorry! but in my opinion this was one of the worst super hero movies ever, besides, the super-heroes in this movie its not heroes at all, they suposed to be kind of fantasy, magical, something like that.bringing super-heroes to real life didn't work for me, not at all, one more thing--the' super-heroes' for me is suposed to live forever, i don't want to se them die, they never die, but not in this movie.
i love fantasy super-heroes movies, i suggest : just live like that!in fantasy.
All I can tell you is that this is one of my favorite movies and it is the best superhero movie made or ever will be made. This has amazing action, a very hot lady, and a suprising deep and clever story line. Some people critizize this for being slow, but I don't think so at all and even if you have a really short attention span, you can always just skip over the parts you feel are slow because it is worth doing that. This is much more fast paced than the LOTR trilogy and even those are great movies. I can't really see anything wrong with this movie because every time I watch it I am always entertained. I will definitely not watch the spider man, batman, or even the x-men movies a second time, but I have a blast no matter how many times I see this one. Rorshack is so badass and has the best narrating voice ever. He is definitely one of the coolest characters in any movie.
Saw this movie in theatres and came out feeling dissapointed. Usually these kinds of movies leave me wanting to watch it a second time but this time I was all like "why did I watch that?"
I think the movie could've been better if it hadn't been so bloody long, and it moved too slowly. All the good action was at the very end, which took too long to get to. I was sorely tempted to walk out halfway through the movie but I waited it out.
The actors themselves were good but Watchmen was better as a graphic novel than a movie.
can't believe anyone thought this was gonna be your typical super hero flick, HUH?? haven't we had a billion of those already? I thought it was about time some director (Zack Snyder, 300, Dawn of the Dead remake) would finally make an adult serious film about a comic, not Tommy Lee Jones playing Two-Face and hopping around like the Joker, but a comic based movie were the characters actually ACT like the characters they are based off of, well this is the closest one I've seen besides Swamp Thing 9/10
I love superhero movies, but man.. this one right here is different. Heroes should have their identities hidden. Heroes doesnt get used by the government. Heroes dont walk around Naked. Atleast wear an underwear. Kids love heroes, dont put sex scenes there and the vulgar languages. Man, the list never ends..

how about the fact that this movie was very well produced, and unlike many book to movie transitions, this was very accurate until the end, the fight scenes are A grade.
the only beef i have with this movie is that it was too long, and yes, less blue penis would be lovely, but that doesn't change the chemistry of the movie.
kids love heroes? make sure their parents approved. this movie was meant for a mature audience. kids these days, all they know about are batman, spiderman, the whole bit. not many kids can tell you what Watchmen was, it was written with adult themes, so hence produced with adult audience in mind.
You could learn a lot of things from this movie if you only listen.Many people just hear things, and as I said they do not listen! This is a deeply profound piece of art and it really surprised me.At first I thought this is just another superhero movie with flying, shooting, screaming, etc.While it contains that it also shows what superheroes would be like in the real world.By the way this is only my opinion ! The end really surprised me.

pff. the movie isn't great, but the comic book is amazing. only someone with a less than normal range of brain activity would be unable to comprehend the complexities of a great story in such a work as Watchmen.
i think it was messed up of manhattan to kill roarshack, and why did adrian kill those 5 million? i didnt quite get it..better i watch this again sometime (or read the comics)
i think you mean comic book, a comic is a feeble attempt at humor, featuring talking babies and anthropomorphized pets, found traditionally in the optimistically named: funny pages. and the comic is better than the movie, cause he changed a lot. designs were like, bang on, and there was a lot that was exactly the same, but there also was a lot different.
It's a little confusing at times, but I understood it all by the end. This movie was pretty badass I have to say, I didn't think it was going to have any violence in it, but I was happy to be wrong.
the same old boy meets girl storyline, neither did Spiderman or Batman Begins or Dark Knight, I've been very satisfied with most of the comic based movies, mostly its love triangles they do in them not "boy meets girl" Fantastic Four I was disappointed about Doctor Dooms origin they messed it up, big time, Daredevil the unrated directors cut was pretty cool, Electra was ok cause Garner is triple hot, but I liked all the other comic based movies pretty well, but my favs are this one and Swamp Thing.
if you're like me and tired of the same old good guy vs bad guy save the girl, defuse the bomb in time, rescue the hostages same ole same ole, and want a great science fiction epic film to watch (like Dune) then you should love it, 9/10

lol. just enjoy the movie, people! don't take out the joy of it. try to analyze the idea for just a second. There are deeper issues in this movie than costumes and transparent boners.
