This is one of those movies where it's extremely difficult to find words to describe what you've just viewed and listened. Mel Gibson, San Elliott and the rest of the cast have given us a realistic view inside the battle field where real people of flesh and bone are killed on both sides of the war. It's a sad story where there are no winners. In the final analysis, the Vietnam was was lost even though more than 58,00 Americans and I don't know how many Vietnamese died as well. War has no winners. I gave it a 10 out of 10 points.
Outstanding war movie one of my favorites! Mel Gibson played the Colonel perfectly awesome acting and fighting scenes. Show's you all the sacrifices our soldiers made for us and democracy. Though people seem to forget, this movie makes us remember. 5/5.
Mel Gibson may be US Born and now residing, but we Aussies claim him as he grew up in Australia and entered the movies through some classic productions here. But this movie is amazing. I lived it.
A pretty good true to life military movie . I liked the fact the did show both sides of the story , even showing your enemy's even have loved ones . 4 out of 5 stars
can't explain it in words. you have to watch it for yourself. this is probably the best movie about the vienam war i've ever saw. greatest movie ever. a must see movie. 10/10
SaffaDave--If Mel tries to steal the spotlight by being the good guy, why didn't he cast himself in Apocalytpo, which by the way was a great movie directed by him. So was Passion of the Christ. As others have said, he died in Braveheart and what about Payback. He wasn't the goody two shoes then. Mel Gibson is an incredibly talented actor and director. He has incredible insight and does good at whatever he tries. He succeeds in all his endeavors. Sounds to me like you have a case of envy. He also casts other actors as characters that make a huge impact on his movies. If it was all about him, he would take this characters for himself. Don't be jealous of his success and ability. You can't actually tell me you hate every movie he has ever acted in or produced/directed.
this has got to be by far the best next to saving private ryan as the greatest old era war movies, i dont know if we will have any great iraq or afghanistan films thats will top this, i mean this is filled with action and you love ever minute of it, HOOAH CAVS OUT. 20/20
