i have seen it several times and i love the ending - i just wish the music from young guns 2 was in this first movie.. great to see the brat pack on fine form back when they were up and coming kings of hollywood
My all-time favourite Western, just slightly ahead of my other favourite: "A Man Called Horse."
Nice action, strong plot and an awesome cast; Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen and Kiefer Sutherland all rock.
Most Westerns are dull, but this is a ton of endless fun.

I agree. This really was a great movie.. But, I gotta disagree about most Westerns being dull, there are quite a few good ones out there (check out 3:10 to Yuma, Tombstone, or Unforgiven..).. This will definitely be a movie I watch again.. 5/5..
Please take Megavideo off this site or at least try to replace it for movies like this. I have tried to watch this movie twice now and Megavideo gives me a comment that I have watched 72 minutes already and need to wait till I can watch more. The thing is, I have not watched 72 minutes. It was actaully only 35 minutes this time. So all in all it will take me three tries to watch a full movie. Not to mention the only other links here are Youku and 56 and they never load completely. I don't mean to be rude, but its really annoying. :(
This is a good western but to say one of the best westerns of all time isn't right. MAYBE top 35. The Dollars Trigoly, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Searchers, Unforgiven, Once Upon a Time in the West, Shane, High Noon, Blazing Saddles are only 10, but I could name 20 more with eaze that all blow this movie away. I get the feeling you haven't seen too many westerns if you really believe this is one of the best of all time. Hell it's lucky to even be one of the best westerns of the 80's. Having said that, I do enjoy Young Guns and like I said, It's a good western.
This and its sequel were just so cool back when they first came out and now they're still fun to watch. You've got an awesome cast, great storyline, and let's face it, western movies when done right, just plain rock (Tombstone, Silverado)! 4/5 stars
This may be runnerup to Tombstone for best western in the last 30 years, but no western is as much fun to watch. Action packed and some really entertaining moments.

1878 in New Mexico: John Tunstall picks up young gun men from the road to have them work on his ranch, but also to teach them reading and to civilize them. However he's a thorn in the side of the rich rancher Murphy, as he's a competitor in selling cattle. One day he's shot by Murphy's men. Judge Wilson can't do anything, since Sheriff Brady is one of Murphy's men. But attorney Alex persuades him to constitute Tunstall's young friends to Deputies and give them warrants of arrest for the murderers. Instead of arresting them, William Bonney just shoots them down. Soon the 5 guys become famous and William gets the name "Billie the Kid" - but they're also chased by dozens of Murphy's men and the army. The people however honor him as fighter for justice.
This movie was actually loosely based on the Murphy-Tunstall range war, the majority of the characters portrayed were real people but, there was also a lot of artistic license taken with some of the facts such as John Tunstall was not a nice guy nor was he a patron saint to young boys in trouble. Do the research if you like history and the Old West, nonetheless a good movie well worth watching unlike remake rip off westerns like 3:10 to Yuma.
I love the movie. I don't usually like westerns but I like this one. Great cast.
Does anyone know where I could see Young Guns 2? I don't have the money right now to buy it and want to see it.
